Our Pet Care Philosophy

Founded in 1980, the Bendigo Animal Hospital is headed by Dr Max Tori and Dr Chris Allison. Our experienced team of veterinary staff not only love helping animals, but are committed to offering the highest standards in small animal veterinary care.

Our pet care philosophy is to always provide quality, affordable vet care for your pets, with friendly and trust-worthy service. We strive to:

  • Create a welcoming environment in which you and your pet feels comfortable.
  • Always be professional, without losing a friendly and personable touch.
  • Be approachable, supportive, compassionate and empathetic.
  • Guarantee to use high quality medical equipment, technology, products, and procedures when treating your pets.
  • Maintain the highest levels of vet clinic cleanliness.
  • Continually improve our skills through on-going training and development programmes so that we can each provide you and your pets the highest standards of animal health care and professional advice.
  • Create a happy, positive and enjoyable place to work, where every team member’s talents are recognized, encouraged, and nurtured.
  • Be the vet clinic your pets would recommend!

More than an animal hospital, we are your pet’s general practitioner, dentist, surgeon, pharmacist, paediatrician, radiologist, nutritionist, intensive-care team, animal health advice centre, pet store, vet emergency centre and after-hours vet team.

We understand the special bond you have developed with your pet, and will do all we can to be caring, friendly, and informative. We practise preventative animal medicine through pet wellness exams and vaccinations, and endeavour to provide the best diagnostic and treatment options available. We are continually educating our veterinarians and vet nurses and updating our policies and protocols.

Jaylene Perri

Jaylene first joined the Bendigo Animal Hospital team in 2004 as our receptionist, greeting customers and patients with her winning smile. As time passed, Jaylene studied for her veterinary nursing certificate and is now one of our wonderful nurses! Her love of the feline species dominated for a long time, with three lovable cats Queenie, Shanti and Snuggles; however, someone convinced her that a dog would be a good pet and she now has Bane (a beautiful Bull Mastiff) and Preston (king charles spaniel). Jay’s particular interest in cats makes her the perfect cat whisperer.

Emily McNamara

Emily has been an animal lover all her life. Joining the team as a veterinary nurse in 2010, her love of animals of all sizes has grown. At home Emily is kept busy with her two very spoilt canines, Savannah (pug cross shih-tzu and Lucy (chocolate labrador).
